External Harddrive formatting....
Hi guys, quick question, I just got a Lacie 1 tb external firewire drive to help out with FC on my IMac,
On the IMac I did the 4gb fix to allow me to have large uncompressed files, how would one format an external drive to use large files (over 4gb) will NTFS work? fat 32 is only up to 4gb yeah? suggestions? thanks in advance.

Why are you considering FAT/NTFS? They're Windows options. This new drive is for a Mac (only) right?
Disk Utility: Erase: Mac OS Extended (probably best: NOT Journaled). No 4GB limit.

thanks Martin,
ok cool, so Mac OS Extended gets rid of the 4gb prob, can I still grab files from a PC and put them on this external HD? eg. Will a PC write to a drive that is formatted Mac OS Extended? If not, how would you get around it? Thanx.
