No Updated MacPro -- disappointed
So today was the day many of us have been waiting for the release of the updated MacPros. But instead of supporting the pros, Apples has once again decided to focus on the consumers and the contents consumption market instead of the contents creation market.
I am really disappointed that Apple is letting us professionals down again. |

Hi I agree with you as a FCP user waiting for Apple to implement update's to FCP Snow Leopard and QT X is a sore point. I was told by my apple dealer that Apple have been trying to sell off Final Cut which may account for the luck of upgrades. I am now looking at other editing system as I believe that Apple are not going to do much with it.

So is this it then? Was it yesterday or nothing for now?

WWDC goes until Friday. Apple's big moment on day one was the new Iphone.

Does the mac pro need updating? Mine works well so far. I do hate quicktime X though.

And by "due" I mean "this is the longest the MacPro has gone without an update".

Given that Apple appears to be morphing into the telephone and gadget company, albeit a very good one, would Premier Pro offer a more reliable future? Does anyone have any comparable experience?

That kind of discussion is already ongoing in this thread.

Anyone considering jumping ship, I recently bought an HP Z800 with dual 6 core Xeons, Quadro FX3800 and 24GB ram for $5500. Just requesting a quote, the saleperson knocked off 25%. The ram is from Provantage since its much cheaper than HP.
