Cant stop smoothcam analysis...help please

editing some old rugby VHS footage as a favour (always the worst jobs!) Footage is very jumpy so decided for the first time to use smoothcam on a piece of footage (FCP 6, MBP, external drive , MXo2, apple 24" display) .....until i noticed it would take 4 hours to analyse so I stopped it...... unfortunately , now every time i try anything..... render or apply a filter, smoothcam starts analysing again .... background processes tell me nothing is happening and everytime I tell it to stop it cancels all other operations

Question , what is the blatantly obvious Im missing here (because i know its something small and stupid on my part)

Any help greatly appreciated

Set an in and out point on only the portion of the clip that you want to use the smoothcam on. Export that clip to QT mov, self contained....create a folder called "smooth" and put the QT mov in there so you can find it easily....then import that QT mov back into FCP....lay on the timeline where you want it and put your smoothcam filter on just that file. Works for me. Best of luck!

Terry is right - Smoothcam wants to analyze the entire media clip, not just the part between the In and Out points in your timeline so creating a new SHORTENED clip is the way to avoid ridiculously long renders.
