Crazy Project best way to capture.

Hey all,
So I am edditing this really crazy project that someone else imported but nothing is right. There were two cameras used. Its a documentary and the first 1/4 of it was shot with a panasonic 100a. The client says he shot in the 24p mode. Everything else was shot on the Sony Z1U in 1080i. Also in 24p as I am told from the client.

The project will be 1080i.

The SD footage from the 100a was brought in SD and then scaled up. I am recapturing that through a Matrox MXO2 and upscaling it. The problem is I get crazy interlacing.

The HD footage from the Z1U was brought in from the camera and some of it from a deck I believe. Some of the footage has really bad interlacing some of it is fine.

My question is what is the best way to recapture these two cameras? I am using an HVR-1500 and the Matrox MXO2.

Thanks
-Lars
