Unexplained Compressor stalling

I'm running the latest version of FCS and lately have been having some problems exporting from Final Cut to Compressor. Traditionally, I've exported a Quick Time "master" from FC, quit FC and then opened the master with Compressor to do the format conversion as needed. I worked like this (until upgrading to current FCS) because I didn't want to tie up FC while compressing.

Since upgrading, I've been trying to send my jobs directly to Compressor from FCS, since it's now supposed to be more of a background process. But when I send the jobs from FC to Comp, compressor works on them for an hour and then stalls. Consistently. Most recently it worked on a 4 minute sequence for 4 hours and didn't finish it! Now, if I go back to my old workflow (export QT master, open separately in Comp) it bangs out the job in about 7 minutes.

WTF? Am I missing some mysterious export control within FCS. It definitely seems like FC is the culprit in the process, since compressor does it thing correctly one I quit FC.

Any thoughts?
Thank you
Bob

Bob,

Sounds like you need to run some of the routines found in this maintenance utility pack for FCS:

digital rebellion's FCS Maintenance Pack

In my review is a direct link to download the latest version from Digital Rebellion. Chances are this will get things cleared up and might even optimize some other areas of the FC suite for you as well. Highly recommended usage.

Thanks. It looks interesting. I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow.
