Final Cut 7 and LiveType

I am about to upgrade from 6.0.6 to 7.0 and have a open project with LiveType transitions.

Yes I know I should not upgrade during a project but this project will be ongoing for 18 months and I need 7.0 for the codec to overcrank my F800.

My questions is what happens to the LiveType text when I go to 7.0? I know I loose LiveType.

Just don't delete it from your applications folder and it will stay there and work perfectly well. You can even re-install it from your studio 2 discs as a standalone if you want

Thanks Steve that is good news. Nice to know I can keep it and upgrade to 7.0.

Using motion 4 still has the presets from Live Type only set within Motion.
I have to say that Motion is really cool and easy to use.

Cheers

Original serial Number needed

Hi Paul, you'll need your original serial number to launch LiveType the first time after upgrading. Caught me off guard since I didn't have the originals handy.

(We know each other... remember?)

Thanks Paul that is a good one to know. I would have been hunting.

Simon nice to know there are options.

I have a project I will finish up this week and then upgrade either before or just after NAB.
