Marking Clips for ingest in FCE4 does not work
Shooting on Panasonic AG HMC150 in AVCHD, 720p 60
Editing on FCE 4.0.1, using Macbook Pro 2.8 Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 gb memory, Easy Setup HDV 720p 30 I've been editing on FCE4 for a year now quite successfully, with one caveat. FCE4 will only ingest entire clips, and the ingest fails if in/out points are marked on any clip before ingesting. Unmarked clips ingest with no issues. This is a problem for longer clips, where I only need a small portion of the clip and don't want to sacrifice huge amounts of disc space needed to store the AIC-converted material. I've tried Easy Setup in every conceivable mode and no matter what the setup, marking clips does not work. I've set the preferences for plain stereo and followed every piece of advice I can find to smooth out the AVCHD ingest process. But still no luck. Reviews I've read of the Log and Transfer process in FCE4 frequently mention the ability to mark clips but it's never worked for this user. Any ideas or suggestions, or is this an FCE4 issue? Thanks. PS - any suggestions for the best Easy Setup for 720p 60 raw footage in FCE4? There is no option for this in AVCHD Easy Setup options, and the video looks/sounds great HDV 720p 30, if only I could mark in and out points!!!!!!! |
