Export AVI problems
I'm having difficulty exporting AVI files from FCP.
I tell it to export using quicktime conversion, select AVI, choose DV compression, 48khz stereo audio. It exports a file. But Quicktime and VLC do not like it. I can;t view it to make sure that the video is actually going to play back properly. It needs to be a DV AVI, no other format will do for this application. Am I doing something wrong? |

Sometimes I wonder if Apple just intentionally breaks this stuff. I've never had a Mac create satisfactory AVI files. I tell my Mac friends not to bother. I just get their ProRes files or whatever, and create the AVI files on the PC.

Export the file, and do the conversion in Quicktime pro.
I work with avi files all the time without problems. All the Best! |

Thanks David!
Your work-around did the trick. Ideally this feature would work within FCP, but this works too. I'm on FCS2 right now. Maybe it's fixed in FCS3? I guess we'll see. |
