capture scratch disc problem
hi all, i am attempting to capture some footage to an external drive and am getting a message that the capture scratch disc(s) are too full. in point of fact, there is 571 gigs available, so this seems unlikely. has anyone run into this and do you have any ideas how to get it to work properly? i can access files on the drive so it seems to be working properly as far as i can tell. the free space shows up in the finder and also in the top right corner of the log and capture window. i have a macbook pro. thanks!

Capture some footage to another drive to make sure the problem is isolated to this particular drive. Make sure that you have read and write privileges for the drive in question. That can be found and changed in the info panel for the drive. Connect the drive with FireWire400 at the least, no USB. Open Disk Utility and run the verify test on the drive. After that you have some more drastic measures to take so try these first.
