Problem capturing tape fcp 7
Hello.
I'm working on 8 core 2.8 mac pro with 4gb of ram on os 10.5.8 with the latest version of fcp 7. I also have a graid 2 1tb hard drive. When I was capturing tape just now, all the audio just came out of sync. Also lots of frame skip during playback. I have narrowed it down to 2 issues 1. This mini dv tape was recorded on my very old xl1 (and although I have cleaned the heads recently) I think it is still acting up. I'm so glad I went to tapeless hd, except memory cards cost so damn much. Then I captured the tape with some old elura mini dv camera. So it could be the camera. 2. Because I'm capturing over firewire 400 and my g raid is over fw 800 they might be on the same bus, so I might need to capture on the internal hard drive. |

Go to the internal drive. If that doesn't fix it, it's quite possibly the camera.
