HDV 720/30p FCP Capture Issue?
I am trying to ingest or capture and log HDV 720 30p footage from mini-dv tape into Final Cut Pro (have latest version). I used the "easy setup" option and matched the settings. When I go to "log and capture" it controls my camera/deck and I can see/hear the video playing on the camera/deck lcd screen, but it won't show up or capture in FCP. I have tried all the various HDV firewire settings, but no luck.
Works fine with 1080i or 30p, just can't get it to work with the 720/30p:( |

Are you capturing from a camera or a deck? What is the brand/model?
Are you capturing the clips at all? |

Sorry, forgot to respond. I found out that it was a result of the source of the footage as it was shot on a JVC GYU100 camera. Must have some sort of special JVC codec that can only be outputted via firewire from a JVC device. So I sent the tapes back to the person who filmed to capture/log the clips to a drive and send back to me...
