field of screams

Hey gang. I have a problem. I'm further cutting down a short film, working off the master file (in "uncompressed" AVI (AVI 'cause it was created in Vegas before I got FCP) form, rather than going back to the source material. I'm actually just cutting bits and pieces out of the finished version, then exporting it to a QT mov, and making a DVD of it. I don't seen a quality issue 'cause I'm not really "reencoding" anything, keeping quality the same, just cutting stuff out. I really did/do not want to go all the way back to the Vegas source and futz with it.

However, when I watched the DVD I noticed several flash frames, one frame of stuff that didn't belong. Several of these throughout the picture. When I went back to my FCP timeline to figure out how I possibly could have left so many mistakes in there, I found that the flashframes don't show up. HOWEVER, when I export a QT reference mov using "current settings", and watch IT, I see those flash frames. Except, I guess they're more flash fields (this is 60i/29.97 material). So they show up in a QT mov, NOT in the timeline. Is there anyway I can force it to land on a "clean" field, so I don't get these ghost frames? To make it see what I see in the timeline? The only other thing I can think of is to go through the QT movie, see where they are, and alter the cuts in the timeline at the corresponding point by a frame to get rid of them.
