Compressor quits during .m2v encoding
This is what the error message is.
media server application unexpectedly quit. Working on a large file, 2.5 hours for a dual layer disk. This is being rendered on a mini mac with the new FCP studio.. FCP 5, Compressor 4. OS tiger. Any help would be geatly appreciated. Ken |

Several of us have mentioned some problems with this in another thread. If I were you, I'd live with the workaround. Just export a QT Reference Movie and export the .m2v file from QuickTime. FWIW, I usually do 2-pass variable between 7.1 and 8.1 and never have a problem with quality or compatibility. I've gone as low as 5.1 for longer format stuff and it still looked pretty good.
Let's hope we get a little repair upgrade soon on all the apps. Nothing big, but lots of bugs. Kevin |

Compressor quits during .m2v encoding
error -1309 is the result of the QuickTime export to m2v from the reference movie. Takes a long time to try any of these work arounds. Can you give me the address of the other thread you spoke of. I can't seem to find it... Thank you again.. kene
