Setting Up Collaborative Workgroup Editing
I feel like a kid in a candy store!
My boss has given the go ahead to order whtever we need to build a central media server that will allow editors from different workstation to access and edit the same FCP projects and files. Here's a rundown on our existing setups: FCP HD (4.5) 2-Dual Proc G5 2ghz w/ 4 gigs of ram each AJA IO 150 gig Medea RT (kind of old) 250 gig Medea Video Raid 5/240 RTS We shoot beta SP and capture as uncompressed 10 bit. We are looking at getting an Xserve G5 or an Xserve G5 cluster node. We will be connecting the server and work stations via gig enet. Is this the proper way to go about it? What other considerations need to be taken into account? Thanks, Dave
