Freeze Frame in Final Cut -- artifacts!
I created several freeze frame in FCE and they looked great in Canvass. After exporting to QT, they still looked great. But after creating a DVD, I get major interlace artifacts in all but one still frame.
I tried applying a deinterlace filter. Saw no effect. Any suggestions? |

Not completely sure what's happening there... try using an adaptive deinterlacer on the footage before making the freeze frame. Joe's Filters offers a good one.
How did you create the freeze frame? Did you export a still and then drop it back into the timeline, or did you use FCP's freeze frame command? |

I used FC's freeze frame & then applied Joe's deinterlace filter to it. Perhaps I need to apply the filter to full motion clip and then create the freeze frame. I can see where that might make a difference. I'm still surprized it looked so good in all the preview modes. Even within iDVD. Everything except the DVD final product.
