Having problems importing footage into FCP through Firewire...
Ive successfully imported my HDV footage into FCP from my HV30 to my FCP through firewire for about a year. Now I have a HDR-FX7. I have successfully imported once with this.
Now it is saying it cannot recognize a capture device. This has happened before with my HV30 but I just gave it some time or restarted and it was fine. Any help? Tyler |

Have you checked your Audio/Video settings are correct?

In FCP. Make sure you have the right capture preset selected.
Sorry, I don't know anything about your camera that may be contributing to the problem, but it might be worth changing the firewire cable. |

Update on mine.
I bought this firewire: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/256751-REG/Monster_Cable_140254_4_pin_to_6_pin_FireWire.htmland now its fine. Must have been the lousy one before it that was the problem. |
