external monitor
im not able to get this to happen. g5 fcp4. xl1s.
im seeing the 'dv in' in vcr mode and have fcp4 set to send video apple firewire ntsc 720/480. seeing no playback in the viewfinder, or on my tv (connected via rca) is there something more to this?

Have you tried rebooting FCP while the camera is left on in VCR mode? cheers, Peter |

make sure you have it set to view>external video>all frames or command-f12.

It should appear on your Viewfinder, but I believe the XL1s does not support pass-through so you won't be able to get it to a TV directly from your computer using the XL1s as the converter. Double check your manual or go to the Canondv.com website...
