Meet Bruce

Here's a fun easter egg in Final Cut,

Open the show button list menu and type in shift B, and then ruce. Then use your keyboard arrows to go back and delete the first arrow. This should bring up a funny icon called "Call the Yak", drag that into the areas where you can put buttons, and click.

enjoy :)

From what I understand, once the Yak is summoned, it can't be entirely turned off without a complete uninstall of FCP.

I've talked to people and read incidents on other forums that talk about random appearances of the Yak when clients were present etc. Are you saying that he won't randomly appear?

The Yak gets summoned if you leave your FC in idle for several hours.

cheers,

Moooooof!

Very cool. Reminds me of the early MacOS years of 3D flags, QTVR campuses, images in the bootrom, and Clarus. A few years ago Steve set a strict 'no egg' policy so I wonder if this was put in before the buy or after...

I'm glad to see some programmers still get to have a chuckle here and there.

Alan --

You broke the unwritten code by divulging the secret.....Bruce will probably poop on your screen at a future date of his choosing. Each release of FCP has a different call the Yak command -- it's supposed to be a journey of self-discovery.

The best appearances, though, are when he does it on his own.
