Questions about Transitions/Editing in FCP Express at DVinfo.net

Could anyone tell me:

1. How to create the 'flash effect' on the transitions in this video (between 15s - 20s):

Is it simply a case of putting a short fade to black at the end of each clip?

2. How to create the transition effect that looks like a tv channel being tuned as in the following clip (28s - 30s):

3. How do you turn a clip from colour to black and white (should be incredibly simple but can't seem to find out!)

4. How to create the 'flashbulb' transition effect in the following clip (e.g. between 13s and 15s):

YouTube - Danish RAF F-16 at Zokniai Airbase

5. The 'colour saturation' in the following clip (this is probably the wrong term but essentially the difference between shooting footage on a videocamera and the footage looking as it does in the following clip which, to me at least, looks more professional):

(Best watched in 'high quality')
