Soundtrack Pro Woe
Hi,
I've followed a path advised on a number of websites/manuals but I'm not having much luck with Soundtrack Pro at the moment. I've heard of many headaches due to this program, but I'm willing to give it a good run around before I make my own mind up. Essentially I'm putting together a series of multi track audio projects (12 stories which will be animated). I have a voiceover, followed by sound effects/foley and music. I could do this with Logic Pro I suppose (though I wanted to dedicate that to music creation only) but STP looked like it could carry this out a little easier. The point where I'm getting stuck is when I save the project and all the edited sound files (mainly fade ins/outs) and, well, STP is not really letting me do this. I'm saving the edited files in a collected bin (via save collected) on my hard drive but I keep receiving a 'cannot save as you don't have permission to save this file' message. I can of course carry out all the edits then save as a final aiff file, but this does allow me to return to the multi track project and make further changes... A point to make is that some files are indeed saved with their intended fades etc (and are being flattened in the editor), so it appears (at the moment) to be random...unless it's the type of file I'm using (the music files seem to save their edits whilst the sound effects don't). This might be a simple point I've missed or is indeed a bug...anyone with a drop of help would be most appreciated....meanwhile I'll try and figure it out. Many thanks. |
