Can you render "in the bin" in FCE?
Let's say you've imported a bunch of clips and pics. Some don't need to be rendered, others do. And certain clips which need rendering will be used over and over again.
Isn't there a way to render the clips in the bin rather than have to re-render over and over again in the timeline? I understand that i can use mpeg Streamclip (or some other program) to convert the clips, but it seems strange that there's no option to re-compress the clips within the bin. Am I missing something? I'm talking about FCE 4.0 by the way. Thanks. |

The easiest way would be to render the clip in question on a timeline, set in and out points, export the clip from the timeline "Using Current Settings", importing the recently exported clip and using that from then on.
The other solution would be to nest sequences.

Thanks for your reply Shaun. It's not quite what I was hoping for, but at least it's a workaround.
I read somewhere that in FCP you can "re-compress" a clip in the bin using the media manager. I guess that's a feature left out of FCExpress. |
