Sudden problems capturing from HV30 to FCE4 at DVinfo.net

I've never had any problems capturing (easy set up, AIC-1080i50, 25fps (hv30's pal)), but suddenly tonight after capturing about 10 minutes worth of footage, kaput, first the capture window stayed black with the message 'cueing tape' while footage continued playing on the camera, so I stopped, rewound a little, started again (and again, and again) but now the message comes up that 'no hdv deck is initialized' blah blah. I've tried everything and even gone into the camera's playback settings, for the first time, and everything there checks out (hdv out). Anyways, I've captured tonnes of stuff since I got the camera in and software earlier this year and never had any problems. I've never gone into the camera to set up anything for playback, and the Fce4 has been on the easy set ups mentioned above from day one as well so this problem is totally out of the blue, a real gremlin, same wire used in the past as well. Any help would be great, it's my boy's second birthday footage.
