Need HELP Exporting all audio! EDL into Logic
Hi All,
I'm really at a cross road here and really need the forums help! I finished my short film of 15 mins and now I'm ready to audio sweeten it. Have a great audio guy lined up ready to help me. The question is, how do I easily get the audio out this project and into Logic Pro (w/ Video) and then back ? (i've exported many projects to compressor and color) I had a friend who was going to help me but he disappeared. He brought up EDL's, which I know nothing about. So I read the manual and it seems so limiting. At some points I have 6 tracks of video (FX's) and 10-14 tracks of audio. EDL's seem to primitive and would they be needed for Logic, are they needed at all ? I'm doubting it. Really looking for advice, Thanks y'all for your help and happy 4th! |

Why would you need an EDL?
EDL's are for other platforms.
Logic is an Apple Product. Send to> SoundTrack Pro Multi-track Project. Then export from STP. Done. See screenshot. -C PS - Your name is ridiculous. |

Andy,
If you don't have Logic on your system then you can't "export" to it, which might be why your previous helper was suggesting export as an EDL (along with the required assets). I've never exported a soundtrack-only as an EDL but it should be possible. I'd suggest 2 things: 1) Have the moderator move this to the "All things Audio" category where the audio editing experts can provide more solid advice. 2) Look up the section in the built-in FCP manual about audio exports; there's an entire chapter dedicated to it. However, if you *do* have Logic on your system then Chris' workflow is spot-on. |

Would an OMF export not work for you?
