HELP...Need to update FCP from 6.0.1 to 6.0.5/6.0.6 How?
My work recently started up a video production department and installed FCS2 on an 8-core MacPro.
All of the ProApps seem up to date, except for FCP, which is still running under version 6.0.1 for some reason. Software Update says that there are no new updates for my computer, but I know because of FCP that this isn't the case. I can't install the newly released FCP 6.0.6 because it requires 6.0.5 which isn't available for download. Is there a way that I can at least update to FCP 6.0.5 so I can update to 6.0.6 and stay current? I can't seem to find 6.0.5 anywhere as all downloads lead to the new 6.0.6 on the Apple site. This includes versiotracker.com BTW. Help, this is getting frustrating. Apple user friendly my ass... |

Have you done the QuickTime update yet?
Software Update ONLY indicates which Updates you are CURRENTLY able to run, given your software configuration. For the Apple Pro Apps, you NEED to be running current QuickTime (as scary as that can be). This may be a multi-stage process of Install, rerun Software Update, Install, Re-Run...
