making a multiclip 30fps v 29.97

I have some DV NTSC clips (not HDV) and would like to mix them with clips captured on a lowly Canon Powershot SD1000. The stopper issue is that the former clips are 29.97fps and the latter are 30fps

Exporting the 30fps clips as 29.97 via Quicktime Pro does nothing (apparently) -- the resultant .mov is 30 fps.

I am willing to accept that dropping (?) 1 frame in 1000 or any other variation is going to create small issues, but that does not faze me. I am, however, unable to get to whatever transmogrification will allow my frame rates to match.

Any ideas of how, using FCP and QT Pro and/or any freeware options would get me where I want to be?

Has anyone successfully made QT Pro deliver on its alleged support for outputting video at 29.97?

thanks in advance.
