Out Of Sync ...
Hello All,
I'm using a Sony Z7 (rx'ing on both card and tape) and editing on FCP. The card 'log and transfer' works without a hitch but when I start to 'log and capture' ... the playback (raw or in the timeline) show that the audio follows the picture by around 6 frames. The settings in FCP are as follows: Easy Setup DV DV-PAL Firewire basic Video Settings DV 48khz Audio Settings DV 48kHz Why should there be such a delay in capturing from tapes? I wonder if there's something in the settings that isn't quite right. I'm also getting a slight vertical shift ... not out of the camera but while watching the capture screen ... Anyone had the same problems? I look forward to hearing from you, Stuart |

Sounds like this could be a NTSC easy capture setup. Press Shift+Q to make sure your easy setup is indeed in PAL mode instead of NTSC.
Hope this helps, -C |

How are you monitoring? On your computer monitor? Or through a converter (DV firewire converter, AJA Io HD, etc... to an external monitor) If you're monitoring through a converter to an external monitor then you need to make sure your audio is going through the converter as well.
