Mixing SD and HDV

Hi.
Still trying to learn FCP 6.
I have anomorphic SD and HDV 1080i60 clips and put them together in a sequence ultimately to go to a DVD.

When I put the clips on the timeline, I thought that FCP 6 would automatically "convert" the HDV to the sequence setting. I did render the sequence, but when I check the "format" in the item properties it still says that the HDV clips are HDV. How to I convert to SD?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Brian

You are seeing the properties of the original clips. FCP does not touch the original files for good reason. The rendered SD files are kept in a different folder called "Render Files".
