Strange corrupt video exported as Quicktime from HDV Sequence
After exporting to Quicktime (self contained) from an HDV timeline, I am seeing corrupt frames during playback that is not in the original clip or sequence (see attachment #1 screen shot from QT player). I can single step thru the section using the QT player and not see the problem. It does not occur playing backwards, only playing forwards. Also, when I stopped the playback on a corrupt frame and saved as an image, it looks fine (attachment #2).
The corruption happens reliably and at the same spots. I can export just that section of the sequence and get the problem. All clips were shot on a Canon A1 in HDV 30i (I needed it for exposure). I am using FCS 1 on 10.5.6 on a PowerPC G5 dual 2.0 |

Epilog:
The problem went all the way through to DVD. On a hunch, I though it could be interlace related. After applying the FCP De-Interlace (Upper Odd) to the HDV clips, I re-exported and the playback problem no longer occurs. It's still a mystery why it only happened on certain clips (the last half of the 90 minute recording). |
