Mac Editing Workflow for AVCHD Lite Files

As new hybrid cameras recording to the recent AVCHD Lite format have begun to be available, has anyone here tried transferring files recorded to the format (similar but not exactly identical to the full-blown AVCHD) directly from the camera or the card into any NLE or player on a Mac? I've googled but only found some workable solution on the Windows platform. Also, some have already tried importing the files into iMovie'09 but got double-framing on the imported footage. Toast 9 also can't see them. Can Toast 10? The file directory itself looked very similar to the regular AVCHD's.
