Video Card Suggestion
I have a quad-core Mac Pro, 10GB RAM. I recently purchased Magic Bullet Looks (NAB 30% discount was too hard to pass up). I shoot with the HMC150 AVCHD in 1080 30p. If I apply any "look" from Magic Bullet, the thing will not render at all.
The graphics card I have is ATI Radeon HD2600 256MB. Apparently I need to upgrade the card. Help. |

Okay. More info. . .
It won't render in FCP. I tried it in Premiere Pro CS4, renders fine and looks awesome!!! CS4 is using the native AVCHD files. FCP transcodes to ProRes. Could that have anything to do with it? The actual error message says: "The effects "Looks" failed to render: your hardware cannot render at the requested size and depth." |

Ok, I'm using a previous version of fcp so I don't have a working knowledge of prores but it seems that maybe the flavor of prores you're working in can't work with magic bullet. There should be a few different quality settings for prores and if you use a quality that is too big it's very possible that your hardware and software can't do the job
