why cannot open .avi
I´m not sure to be in the right forum????????
The issue is that I cannot open any arquive with this .avi file. I tried to convert it in stremclip but also doesn´t work, total black. So I cannot open any downloaded film finished with this extension, which are most of them. Can anybody give me a clue? final cut pro 6.04 MACOS X LEOPARD 10.5.6 2.8 GHZ INTEL CORE 2 DUO 2GB 800M DDR 2 SDRAM |

Probably missing the encoding codec. Perhaps it's DIVX or something?

Download the free program Perian, Perian - The swiss-army knife of QuickTime components. It adds a number of avi and other codecs to QuickTime that might help you out.
VLC is a great, near universal, video file viewer that's free as well. However there are some avi files that use highly unusual codecs that are only viewable with specialized hardware installed in the computer. I have encountered this with security camera video files.
