Sony HVR-Z7, BlackMagic Decklink Card and Final Cut Pro

I am recodring a documentary on a Z7 at 1080 25p Scan (capturing progressive but recording interlaced), and I am going to edit on a MacPro which has a BlackMagic Decklink card.

Is it best to capture through the BM's component input, or just via FW400 directly from the camera?

If I capture using the BM card I can't control the camera, is there any way to control the camera via the FW400 port but capture through the BlackMagic Card?

Thanks.

With a Z7, the easiest way to work is to put the Compact Flash Card from the camera in a CF-reader, and use Log & Transfer instead of capture in FCP.
