Clip - Add just video or audio track to timeline
Hi
If in FCP I have a clip in the bin with a video and a couple of audio tracks, is there any way of adding just the video, or just one audio track to the timeline? The only option I have found is to add the lot, turn off linking and delete what is not needed. A bit of a pain if all my audio tracks are in use! Cheers, Nick |

Yes you can control what gets added to the timeline using the widgets on the left side of the time line. There are Tab looking widgets on each track that has content and they attach or detach from the track (right and left positions) When detached (leftmost position), there is a small gap between the widget and the track. In that position, the corresponding track in the item you are adding to the timeline WILL NOT be added. If you find that section in the HELP, it will explain it some more. Possibly even better. :-)

Cool - I knew you used those patch tab to select the destination track, but had not realised you could leave them disconnected.
Many thanks. Nick |

Another way is to lock the tracks (video or audio) you do not want to copy over. The lock icons are on the left side of the timeline.
