Undoing Color
So I did some color correction through apple color, rendered, and sent back final cut pro... and I don't like it and want to restore the uncorrected settings to the final cut sequence. Does anybody know how I can safely restore the sequence as it was? And does rendering an ungraded shot in color degrade the shot when sent back to final cut?
thanks |

Your original sequence should still be intact inside your FCP project. What you get back from Color is a new copy of the sequence you sent, but with the new media generated by Color in place of the original media.
If your shot was not graded in Color, then it shouldn't have undergone any rendering since there was nothing to render. One possible exception is if you sent footage that Color only accepts as an input codec and then rendered the untouched clip to a Color-supported codec for export (see Color documentation for details on which codecs are supported). I don't know for a fact if Color would do this. It is just an educated guess.
