Graphics card question: best for new Mac Pros and 3D FX/editing
I saw this video:
YouTube - Troublemaker Studios and ATI FirePro About this card: ATI FirePro ™ Graphics Accelerators And I don't think I can get it for a Mac Pro--or can I? Are there comparable cards that you can put into the new Mac Pros? I am specifically looking to work with HD/2K/4K and 3D visual FX. Thanks, heath

Macs only support a very small number of graphics cards which normally are Mac only & cannot be used in PCs. One exception is the ATI Radeon 3870 which does come in a version suitable for both Macs & PCs. Basically you get what you pay for & the ATI Radeon 4870 is the fastest & best card you can get for a Mac pro & will handle 3D FX & editing well.

Thanks for the advice, Nigel. This is something I want to get into.

FWIW, the artists in our studio work on stations using Nvidia Quadro cards (not sure which ones at the moment). They run Shake, Maya, and 3Delight...
But as Nigel said, the the ATI Radeon 4870 will be fine.
