Most Stable OSX / FCP combination?

Am due to upgrade my stuff, and just wondered what was the most stable OSX and Final Cut that everyone was using? Reason I'm asking is that a few years ago I tried and upgrade of System Software and FCP and I had a lot of 'small' problems - enough to make me ditch it and go back to what I knew worked fine.

I also use photoshop/illustrator etc, so would be good to know if works fine with these too.

Thanks

As far as my experience goes. The most recent version of FCP and MacOS work well together. A FCP crash maybe once every two months at most with all of the recent versions for the past few years. Not everyone has the same success but I think you shouldn't worry.

Yeah- current version on all accounts have always been my mantra. Typically you want to wait a week or two on brand new OS and QT updates just to hear if anything really major went wrong but after that- go for it.

Good question, but there isn't really such thing necessarily as "the most stable" combination (meaning one superior combo), but rather finding the right combo for a particular version of FCP. There was a great blog post a few months back on Jon Chappell's blog: Recommended QuickTime and Mac OS configurations for Final Cut Pro - Digital Rebellion Blog

I don't know how current it is, but worth checking out.
