Problem importing media after Removing Advance Pulldown (FCP6/QT7.6)
I am concerned about the latest Quicktime update. I just did something I've done numerous times. I hooked up my Firestore to my Mac, pointed it at about 12 QT .mov files that were the parts of a 1:45:00 I shot tonight. I dragged the 12 files into FCP6. I then highlighted them all and chose "Remove Advanced Pulldown". After a few minutes, the files all appeared offline. When I tried removing them from FCP and re-importing them, they were unable to be imported (all complained of unknown file type).
All 12 files are intact as far as Quicktime player is concerned. They play fine. Their frame rates are 23.98 (as they should be) and they look good. I tried rebooting. I tried opening them in QT Player, changing something simple, then re-saving. Still nothing. I'm importing them into iMovie to see if it knows what to do with them. Sigh.
