FCP crashes when launching compressor
An oft repeated complaint I think: every time I launch compressor FCP crashes making it useless (Compressor does not crash). I use FCP 4.5 and compressor 3.0.3. I've trashed prefs for FCP to no effect. Can anyone think of a way round this to produce decent DVDs such as exporting a sequence setting QT from FCP then using this in Compressor - does that make any sense??
Cheers all, Geoff |

Export a "Quicktime Movie" (just use the default settings), and then bring that into Compressor. This will give you the best results possible.
There were reported problems of Compressor crashing when launched from Final Cut in the past, they I believe they were all fixed with software patches. You might have to bite the bullet and upgrade to Final Cut Studio 2 to resolve this particular problem. |

Thanks Chris - a simple and effective solution. I will upgrade to FCS when this project is finished but was very wary of doing so during it!
