MXO and Final Cut settings

I have been using the Matrox MXO for the last month to help get color closer. Now seeing the end results on a few HDTV's it seems I need to use "Matrox uncompressed RGB + what ever format". I used YUV and two programs have asked me to switch to RGB.

Anyone have experience with either setting sending to HDTV?

What are you monitoring on? Exact set up?
You should not use the rgb settngs in fcp as they will degrade playback perfomance. Also rgb us a different colorspace - yuv has colors outside 8bit rgb.

Also what is your other playback to those other screens?
There are so many places for things to shift around. If you are going to DVD there can be shifts in the mpeg2 encode. Even those end sets could be off.

You need to verify you local set up first. Btw the rgb settings are for use in compositing apps like AE. Also because mxo manages it's color, rgb vs yuv should be very very close.

Thanks Steve,

I am using Dell 24" ultra sharp and have dialed the monitor and the bars in MXO as best I can and check weekly.

What I have come to find out is the client has been using gamma of 1.8 and I have told him to use 2.2. This has solved the problem since it looked washed out to him which makes sense. He is playing back on their computer and his HDTV.

I am now only using YUV 8 bit and 10 bit when coming from the Flash XDR.
