Copying EX-files with Clip Browser
Why is it better to copy files from the S&S card (for backup purposes) via Clip Browser as opposed to drag&drop? (it's something that was suggested in a tutorial but it didn't explain why...)

Although it slows the transfer down a bit, clip Browser has a data valadation mode that confirms that your data is OK. I also believe that there are some error correction tools that might help restore a corrupted BPAV file system.
There are other applications, ShotPut for example, that you can use for archiving/transferring data from your SxS cards. This is a cool application, but it doesn't allow you to browse thumbnails the Clip Browser does. And Since this is such an important aspect of working without a net/tape, I find that I use Clip Browser more than I do ShotPut. |
