More Quicktime Woes
I am running OS 10.4.11 with FCP 6.0 and QT 7.2, so far so good, no problems. I have been careful not to download newer versions of QT when doing software updates due to the potential incompatibility issues I have read about here.
The other day I downloaded some Apple software updates including iTunes 8.0.1 but, as usual, I did not download the latest version of QT. Now iTunes will not open saying it needs QT 7.3.1 or later. Should I update QT to the required version, or is there a way of rolling back to an earlier version of iTunes? As always your help and insights are appreciated. Rich. |

I'm running 10.4.11 and FCP 6.0.3 with QT 7.4.5 and wish I hadn't done the QT upgrade to 7.4.5 which has caused me grief under FCP. I'm in the middle of a HUGE project so I can't update ANYTHING right now but my caution would be: if you're stable right now, LEAVE IT.
When this project leaves my bay, I'll upgrade to all the newest versions and sort out whatever problems rear their ugly heads then but upgrading QT JUST to get iTunes working doesn't sound like a "win" to me, from where I sit.
