Editing on two diffrent machines - how do I do it
I have a Macbook Pro and a mac pro both loaded with FCP 5.0.4
I use the Mac Pro for my main editing but read somewhere that it's possible to load the same footage into the other machine, rough edit a sequence on that other machine and then sync it back with the main computer. Can anyone explain how this is done please, i've tried googling the answer but can't find it. Any suggestions? The reason I need to be able to do this is that we're travelling about quite a bit at the moment and it would be handy to be able to edit whilst on the move. Thanks. |

Transfer the footage and project file to the laptop (there are a number of ways to do this), edit on the laptop and transfer only the project file back to the Mac Pro. You'll have to re-connect the footage when you launch but that's it. Find the first missing media file and FCP automatically finds the rest of the footage if it's in the same folder.
