Making FCE ignore Waves plugins?

'm running FCE 3.0HD on 10.3.9 on AlBook G4. My Waves 5 plug-ins seem to be incompatible with FCE 3. I'm about to move to FCE 3.5HD on Tiger.

I'd like FCE 3.0 to ignore my Waves plugins without affecting the way the plugins work in my DAW apps like Digital Performer and Ableton Live.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks

Charles

FCE is Audio Unit aware so will always scan the applicable folders for any such plugins ... if they are installed (/Library/Audio/Plugins + ~/Library/Audio/Plugins) then it will find and try to load them. The thing to do is to move them out of those folders before you launch FCP.
I'd recommend using a AU Manager to handle that for you, so that you simply maintain app specific sets. There are 2 options that I know of for this, both are free:
Granted Software
Audiofile Engineering - Audio Unit Manager
