WHAT?!? 8 hours to encode AC3 audio in Compressor?
I have an hour and a half DVD encode going and the AC3 audio portion is taking 8 hours. The video raced thru in under 3 hours. I don't get it.
I used the 120 minute Good DVD preset in Compressor 2.1 -- I had no idea it took longer for sound to encode. Do I have something set wrong? |

Strange. Is all the audio in a lossless format prior to compression?

Is the Preprocessing > compression method set to "none"? That is the only thing I can think of, and I'm not sure it would even affect encode times. The only other thing is, is your source file on an external hard drive? I have had instances recently where I am encoding from an FCP timeline and the media is on a firewire drive, and the audio takes significantly longer than a project of the same length on an internal SATA drive. Don't think it would crank up the time to 8 hours though...
