FCP crashes - why?
Normally I work on PC but I got some footage in ProRes format, so I had no choice: borrowed a MacBook from a friend. Loaded the footage and I'm trying to export it in a PC-friendly format. So far I tried DV-AVI (which is my target format for the PC), self-contained QT DV-NTSC, and QT HDV 720P.
FCP crashes after a few seconds of export. I was, however, able to export a short test file, about 5 seconds long (the whole file is a little over one hour long). Any ideas would be appreciated. I have used this same laptop before and it worked fine with QT/DVCPRO-HD footage. Thanks, |

Trash the prefs, check for software updates, do a permissions repair on the main HD, try again...
How much free space do you have on the drives you are using? It could be a problem with the media being corrupted. |
