Soundtrack pro 2 stereo track to dual mono
Help please,
After exporting FCP project to Soundtrack I get 1 single stereo track where there should be 2 mono tracks, and I am having problems mixing the separate channels into mono centered track. Project outputs in stereo, I can easily get the left or right channel only by simply panning, but how do I move the single channel to the center? I want to do it for the whole project, not on clip to clip basis. Thanks. |

check your audio output tab in the sequence setting, make sure that it is set for dual mono, then on the sequence choose what tracks go to which channel by control clicking in the gray area to the left of the tracks

Bart,
There are at least a couple of different ways to separate the stereo channels in Soundtrack Pro. One way is to export the sound to a new AIFF and check the box that says something along the lines of "create multiple mono files". The other way would be to duplicate the stereo track, then open each copy (one at a time) into the audio file editor and use the "reduce to mono" function. You can choose between left, right, and both for this, so use "left" on one and "right" on the other. Either way, the result will be two mono files. Not sure how easily that fits into your workflow, but it will do the job. - Martin
