Playback choppy or stops after export from FCP Color
After doing a grade within Color, I render the clips and then send the timeline back to FCP, which all works fine, but when I try to playback in FCP it is choppy or the video stops. Any idea what the problem is? I'm running FCP Studio 2 on a 17" Macbook Pro 2.4khz with 4GB RAM. The source video is 720p XDCAM EX.

Hello,
Well not sure about this, but one thing that is a maybe.. I believe Color writes a new video file of your graded video..(when you place it in the render que and render it) And on my system it was set to the system drive versus the video drive.. Maybe check in Color to see where it is writing to?? Could be it needs to be redirected to your fast video drives?? Just one idea.. Mike M. |
