Subtitles Tips/methods.
Hi all.
I'm currently constructing a few scenes for a short film project which will require subtitles. Having never done this before but having watched hundreds of subtitled films over the years, I realise I only half know what I'm going to do. I usually flit between Motion & Livetype, although ol' Boris can often come up with the goods - and in this case (plain white text) Boris seems to be working fine. I noticed when I dropped some text in that whilst it looked fine on the first run, immediately after adding some other element to the footage (this case a 2.35:1 widescreen border) the text became blurry and slightly opaque?? This may have been down to using the native FCP titler (since ditched for Boris)...but it did look awful - might this be related to the inbuilt FCP titler only? So far so good (it seems so straightforward and it now probably falls under the artistic region rather than technical) but if anyone can offer any experience (timing's going to be a possible hurdle?) or point to any decent articles I'd be most grateful. Here's a frame from the test: http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...oxsubtitle.jpg |
