Speediest M2T to Quicktime workflow, any tips?
Hey guys,
Occasionally get these really simple edits to do, quick turnaround and slap-bang cuts. The editing takes no time at all, but the processing is really slowing things down. The footage is all HDV 720p and i capture the whole tape using HDVxDV to an M2T file. Normally I use Apple Intermediate Codec or go Uncompressed, but is there a speedier option??? For these jobs, i just want the processing to be fast fast fast. I would capture within FCP straight to .mov but the data-breaks working with 720p in FCS2 is just not cool....so M2T is the way i've gone... Anybody got any tips?...am i approaching it all wrong? |

Try an NLE with native HDV support?
Sorry, that one slipped out. Seriously, doesn't the tape capture time far outweigh the processing time? |

Use HDMI, HDSDI or even component out of the HDV camera and use something like MOTU V3HD, Blackmagic Design Intesity, Decklink HD or Multibridge PRO/Eclipse then transcode in realtime capturing.
I do that with my HV20 captured as DVCPROHD since my other cams are HPX and HVX. |
