Strange Black Horizontal "Letterboxing" Added to HVX-200 Footage in FCP 6
I am currently editing a long form doc utilizing HD footage (HVX200 DVCPROHD 720/60) and editing it into a 720x486 DV (Prores422) Final Cut Project. We are also using downrezzed Sony V1U footage (1080/60 HDV converted to ProRes422)
There are what appears to be about 6(?) black horizontal lines on the top and bottom of ALL the 720/60 footage from the HVX200. Has anyone encountered this before? The Sony V1U downrezzed SD footage is not exhibiting these same lines. Should I just apply a vertical scale adjustment to the HVX200 footage to make it fit seemlessly? For the record, we have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card and the project is set as Intensity DV NTSC 720x486 with the downrezzed 1080 footage treated as anamorphic. |

If you shot HD in widescreen, and you are adding the HD footage to a SD timeline, the HD footage would scale to fit and leave the top and bottom bars because your SD timeline is not widescreen. Is that what you are talking about? The letterbox (one bar on the top and one on the bottom)?
Are you intending to make a 4:3 format from a 16:9? You will either have the bars or lose the sides of the video when you scale the footage up. Let me know if that answered your question. |
